Senator  Howard Stephenson

Senator Howard Stephenson has led education reform in the Utah Legislature for 21 sessions, successfully advocating for digital learning, charter schools, online education, paycheck protection, dual language immersion and others. He chairs the Public Education Appropriations Subcommittee and Administrative Rules Review Committee. Stephenson earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and aerospace studies and Master of Public Administration from Brigham Young University.  He serves as President of the Utah Taxpayers Association. Stephenson co-hosts the popular Red Meat Radio - Inside Utah Politics, Saturday mornings. Senator Stephenson resides in Draper, Utah with his wife Julie. They have 5 children and 8 grandchildren.
