Call for Submissions
Submission Guidelines
Applicants may submit proposals for presentations to be made at the 2012 conference below. Please read the following guidelines prior to submitting. In order to be considered for the 2012 conference, all proposals must be received by November 2, 2011 (11:59 p.m. MST).

Topics: Submissions must be related to at least one topic indicated in “Topic Areas” listed on the Topics page and be based on an area in preschool and/or elementary education. Authors may submit to either the Research Track or the Applications Track (real-world technology solutions) depending on their focus. Research papers are expected to contain methods and completed data analysis. Applications papers are expected to function more as tutorials for product use in classrooms or home settings, or as discussion opportunities for applications in development.
Originality: Submissions must be original.
Format: Submissions for presentations must be in the form of scholarly papers. Submitting authors who have not adhered to proposal requirements for their chosen presentation format will not be considered for acceptance. Please remove all information identifying the author from the document that will be uploaded on the submission page. This will allow files to be sent anonymously to reviewers.
Title: Use mixed case and appropriate punctuation.
Authors: On the submissions page, include all authors associated with the project; list authors by first and last name. Do not include author information in the uploaded file.
Deadline: Submissions must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. MST November 2, 2011.
Participant Requirements: By submitting a proposal for the 2012 EETC conference you commit to attend the conference March 14-16, 2012. The presenting author must be listed as an author on the submission page but does not necessarily need to be the first author.
Participant Limitations: An individual may not appear as the first author of more than two submissions.
If Accepted: If your paper is accepted, the following apply:
- Each author planning to attend the conference must register.
- The presenting author of an accepted paper must present the paper at the conference. If an emergency prevents the author from attending the conference, he or she must notify the conference chair immediately.
Presentation Details
EETC includes three types of presentations:
When submitting your abstract, please indicate your order of preference for the type of presentation in which you would like to be a participant. Note: If you choose the Research Track Oral Presentation as your first or second choice, please ensure your submission meets the minimum requirements.
Oral Presentation
Research Track
Papers should present reports of significant work or integrative reviews in research related to all aspects of the conference topics.
Presentation Time: 30 minutes (includes Q & A)
Submission Proposal Length: 2–3 pages (1250–1900 words); an abstract is not sufficient to be evaluated as an Oral Presentation
Proposal Requirements: Must include purpose, background information, method, results, and conclusions; tables and graphs may be included in proposal
AV Equipment Provided: PC, projector, and wireless Internet access
Applications Track (Real-world Technology Solutions)
Presentation Time: 30 minutes (includes Q & A)
Submission Proposal Length: 1–3 pages (625–1875 words); an abstract is not sufficient to be evaluated as an Oral Presentation
Proposal Requirements: Must include purpose, background information, description of the application and its uses, and evaluation of application if applicable; screen shots may be included in proposal
AV Equipment Provided: PC, projector, and wireless Internet access
Roundtable Discussion
Presenters will be seated at a table that fits up to 10 people. There will be no formal presentation of material, but the presenter should feel free to show demonstrations on a laptop. Discussions should present reports of significant work, research studies and projects that are in progress, current applications of technology, or integrative reviews related to all aspects of the conference topics.
Presentation Time: 1 hour
Submission Proposal Length: 1–3 pages (625–1875 words)
Proposal Requirements: Must include a description of the planned discussion; should emphasize the problem, what was done, and why the work is important; may include work that is still in progress and does not yet have data
AV Equipment Provided: Internet
Poster
Poster sessions enable presenters to demonstrate and discuss their latest results and applications in order to gain feedback and to establish contact with others in their field.
Submission proposal length: 1–3 pages (625–1875 words)
Proposal Requirements: Must include a description of the planned Poster/Demonstration; should emphasize the problem, what was done, and why the work is important; may include work that is still in progress and does not yet have data
AV equipment provided: 4′x8′ poster board
