Call for Submissions


Applicants may submit proposals for presentations to be made at the 2013 conference on this page. In order to be considered for the 2013 conference, all proposals must be received by September 21, 2012 (11:59 MST). Applicants will be notified by November 20, 2012 of a proposal’s acceptance into the conference.

Submission Guidelines


Applicants may submit proposals for presentations to be made at the 2013 conference on this page. In order to be considered for the 2013 conference, all proposals must be received by September 21, 2012 (11:59 MST). Applicants will be notified by November 20, 2012 of a proposal’s acceptance into the conference.

Eligibility Requirements for Submissions

The following procedures and policies must be adhered to.

Topics: Submissions must be related to at least one topic indicated in “Topic Areas” listed on the Topics page and be based on the area of technology in preschool and elementary education.

Originality: Submissions must be original.

Format: Submissions for oral presentations must be in the form of papers. Please remove all information identifying the author from the document that will be uploaded on the submission page. This will allow files to be sent anonymously to reviewers.

Title: Use mixed case and appropriate punctuation.

Authors: On the submissions page, include all authors associated with the project; list authors by first and last name. Do not include author information in the uploaded file.

Deadline: Submissions must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. MST September 21, 2012.

Participant Requirements: By submitting a proposal for the 2013 EETC conference you commit to attend the conference April 2-4, 2013. The presenting author must be listed as an author on the submission page but does not necessarily need to be the first author.

Participant Limitations: An individual may not appear as the first author of more than two submissions.

If Accepted: If your paper is accepted, the following apply:

  • All conference participants associated with the submission must register for the conference.
  • The presenting author of an accepted paper must present the paper at the conference. If an emergency prevents the author from attending the conference, he or she must notify the conference chair immediately.

EETC includes two types of presentations: Oral Presentation and Roundtable Discussion. When submitting your abstract, please indicate your order of preference for the type of presentation in which you would like to be a participant. Note: If you choose the Research Track Oral Presentation as your first or second choice, please ensure your submission meets the minimum requirements.


ORAL PRESENTATION

Research Track

Papers should present reports of significant work or integrative reviews in research related to all aspects of the conference topics.

Presentation Time: 30 to 60 minutes (includes Q & A)

Submission Proposal Length: 2–3 pages (1250–1900 words); an abstract is not sufficient to be evaluated as an Oral Presentation

Proposal Requirements: Must include purpose, background information, method, results, and conclusions; tables and graphs may be included in proposal

AV Equipment Provided: PC, projector, and wireless Internet access

Implementation Track

Presentation Time: 60 minutes (includes Q & A)

Submission Proposal Length: 1–3 pages (625–1875 words); an abstract is not sufficient to be evaluated as an Oral Presentation

Proposal Requirements: Must include purpose, background information, description of the implementation and its uses, and evaluation of implementation if applicable; screen shots may be included in proposal

AV Equipment Provided: PC, projector, and wireless Internet access

Policy Track

Papers should present reports of significant work or integrative reviews in policy related to all aspects of the conference topics.

Presentation Time: 30 to 60 minutes (includes Q & A)

Solutions Track

The purpose of this track is to allow companies to present their products.

Presentation Time: 60 minutes (includes Q & A)

Submission Proposal Length: 1–3 pages (625–1875 words); an abstract is not sufficient to be evaluated as an Oral Presentation

Proposal Requirements: Must include purpose, background information, description of the implementation and its uses, and evaluation of implementation if applicable; screen shots may be included in proposal

AV Equipment Provided: PC, projector, and wireless Internet access


ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION

Presenters will be seated at a table that fits up to 10 people. There will be no formal presentation of material, but the presenter should feel free to show demonstrations on a laptop. Discussions should present reports of significant work, research studies and projects that are in progress, current applications of technology, or integrative reviews related to all aspects of the conference topics.

Presentation Time: 1 hour

Submission Proposal Length: 1–3 pages (625–1875 words)

Proposal Requirements: Must include a description of the planned discussion; should emphasize the problem, what was done, and why the work is important; may include work that is still in progress and does not yet have data
